As professionals in the field of mental health we are taught many things by the patients we get the opportunity to help. Children and families impacted by autism experience so many day to day challenges that the average person takes for granted; like their child saying their wants or being able to write their name or the ability to make a friend. The parents in these families are truly superheroes tirelessly working, creating and advocating for what their child needs. This walk provides us the opportunity to give back to the families and help them create programs or empower and educate more parents. As the saying goes, it takes a village to raise a child, we are honored to be a small part of that village.
