My nephew, Ian Armstrong, was diagnosed at the age of 2 with severe autism and is also non-verbal. Ian goes to therapy for 5 hours a day every day including spring, summer, and winter breaks. Ian used to have big meltdowns were he would hurt himself but with therapy his meltdowns are smaller and quickly over. Even with the challenges Ian has to deal with every day I have never met a child who is more loving and happy. He currently is in pre-K and doing well but I doubt he would be doing as well if it was not for his therapy.
