We are a Thin Blue Line family of seven. Our children are very interested and involved when it comes to activities for their Thin Blue Line family, so this year when we were talking about team names they wanted to be the Blue Squad Kids. They hope to have several officers join their team this year and help them reach their goals!
A little about our children, we have 5 kids and 2 of them are on the spectrum. Our oldest on the spectrum is Cameron a 10 year old boy. He is a loving and caring child who was diagnosed with Autism and DMDD last year. Things are tough sometimes but he strives each and everyday to be better then the day before. We also have a 7 year old little girl on the spectrum. She is a bright young lady who was diagnosed with Autism (High Functioning) about 3-4 years ago. She also had a seizure disorder and low immune deficiency. She has defiantly changed our lives and how we operate but everyday is a new day with her and she works so hard to adapt to change.
AutismTulsa has really changed our lives as a family in understanding a little more on what we can do to help our children and prepare for what our children are going to need in the future. So it is a blessing to get to come out one day and walk the streets with others who understand and want to help raise awareness for those who's lives have been altered by Autism. AutismTulsa a family support group is only made possible by the amazing jobs done by many wonderful people and money donated to AutismOklahoma. So with your generosity and donations whether it be walking with us in the piecewalk to help raise awareness or by a small donation in honor of our little ones you are the ones who make it possible for us to continue serving, teaching, and interacting with those who's life is affected by Autism. Hopefully you will join us in this journey as it will be lifetime experience you wont want to miss.
